Jars of Clay: A Restaurant with a Mission

Jars of Clay is one of my favorite restaurants to go to whenever I want to dine alone. It provides a sense of calm and peace. My friends and I also often visit the restaurant to celebrate special occasions.
Jars of Clay is a social enterprise founded by Barbara Neale, a missionary from the UK, in 1998. The café is grounded in Christian values and employs disadvantaged and vulnerable Cambodian women. Apart from the great food, these are some of the reasons I visit the café. They used to have two branches, one in Toul Tum Poung (TTP) and the other in Phnom Penh Thmey. However, the TTP branch closed during the pandemic.
The restaurant serves Western and Asian dishes. These are some of the foods I have tried, and I highly recommend that you try them as well.
Jars Famous Lok Lak is my personal favorite. The lok lak (shaking beef) comes with a fried egg, beans, tomatoes, and your choice of French fries or mashed potatoes.
Another favorite is Chicken Schnitzel. The flavor combination of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green peas, and sauce is superb!
Chicken Parmigiana hits the spot!
My favourite Thai dish, Khao Kluk Kapi (Shrimp Paste Fried Rice). Tasty!
Delish Tom Yum Soup!
Cakes are simply delightful. Mango Cheesecake is my favorite!
For drinks, I recommend the passion fruit or mango smoothie—or try a mango shake for something extra creamy!
The staff at Jars of Clay are friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. If you enjoy good food and supporting social enterprises, Jars of Clay is worth a visit!
The café is located on the second floor of Supermarket 1 & 1 on Oknha Try Heng (St. 2011).
It is open Monday to Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Delivery is also available through Nham24.
Been to this place so many times,but the feeling and experience is always new. In addition to the superb food, the ambiance and mood are awesome.
